How do you get more traffic to your website?
Websites and getting traffic can be a frustrating thing for business owners. A lot of time and money goes into it, so it is especially difficult to watch it sit there and not get a lot of traffic. Or maybe even worse, do great for a while, then start hemorrhaging traffic.
Most business owners today are always trying to find new and creative ways to drive traffic to their website. There are many ways to do it.
Try these simple tips and see if they are a fit for your business.
1) Purchase Banner Ads
Consider placing a banner ad on other websites with subject matter related to your field. (It’s important to find other sites are a good fit, for example if you sell shoes you might consider placing banners on websites for runners.)
Many websites advertise banner space for sale. Make sure to find a website with good traffic that will flow your way.

2) Video Marketing
Consider making a YouTube channel. Content is key to be successful with any kind of YouTube marketing strategy. Your channel has to be more than just about sales.
Your goal should be to build a community and establish meaningful relationships with your subscribers.
If you provide useful and educational information to your followers, you will establish yourself as an expert in your field and build trust. After that, traffic will flow to your website and your sales will increase.

3) Newsletter
Build an email list and start a newsletter.
Make your newsletter worth it to your followers by filling it with high caliber content, not just sales pitches. Give people an incentive to sign up, like a coupon or a freebie, and give subscribers regular incentives to keep reading.
We recommend using an email auto-responder like Aweber (use this link and you can try it for 30 days for $1.00)
Let your subscribers know up front how often they will receive your emails, and stick to that time frame.
Space your emails out enough that that don’t become a nuisance.
4) Start A Forum
Start a forum on your website. It’s a great way to not only build a community, but to learn about other people’s experiences in your field.
You can discover trends and learn about other products and services similar to your brand’s. A forum also increases your visitors’ time on site.
If you decide to start a forum, don’t neglect it. Give it the time and attention it needs to help establish you as an expert in your field.
5) Start A Blog-
A good blog allows brands to connect directly with their existing customers and reach out to new ones.
A blog lends a unique voice to your business and is a great way to discuss current events in your field and showcase your product and services. While your website is for promoting your brand and products. A blog is for giving your brand a personal touch.
Keep the blog personal by discussing what you think of happenings in your field.
6) Start A Facebook Page
With about one and a quarter billion users, Facebook is the place to be to get your business noticed.
You can have direct communication and conversations with your customers who then share that experience with others on Facebook. You can build your Facebook following by inviting people to like your page and spread the word about your company.
Also, Facebook is perfect for talking about up to the minute current events in a way that newsletters and blogs are not.
7) Twitter
Twitter is a perfect way to send relevant bursts of info to your followers in tiny, easily digestible bites.

Take advantage of Twitter’s real time instant information sharing to let customers know about sales, events, and product updates immediately.
8) Be Responsive
Don’t ignore comments or questions on your blog, Facebook, forums, or Twitter account. Communicating directly is the number one way to build meaningful relationships with your followers and send traffic to your website. While it might not be possible to reply to every comment or question you receive, especially if you do start getting fantastic traffic, it’s important that you at least give it a try.
Whatever methods you decide to do to drive traffic toward your brand’s website, just remember you always need to put emphasis on your content.
If your website is poorly executed and your content is impersonal sales driven dribble, no amount of traffic driving will help you. Keep that in mind as you try some of these ideas to drive up your traffic. Good luck.
